  • About this Typeface

Expanded features development by Joshua Darden, with production assistance by Thomas Jockin.

With an average hairline weight of 1% of its point size, Freight Big is designed for the largest settings: newspaper section heads, book covers, mastheads, and other extremely large text. Mildly condensed proportions and tight spacing give it a bright finish. The lightest weights permit fine adjustments both for printing processes (e.g letterpress, offset lithography, or gravure printing) and stylistic decisions on the part of the designer. Especially in the italics, its heavier weights emphasize a fundamental abruptness: for every turn, there is a corner.
